Lifecourse Framework
Charting the LifeCourse framework is designed to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages develop their vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want. The framework is key supporting individuals and their families by involving communities, natural supports, and assisting with creative thinking.
Charting the LifeCourse IS:
- About having different conversations
- A different way of thinking
- Encouraging high expectations
- Having life experiences to move the trajectory in the desired direction
- Integrating multiple types of support
WCSI’s SCO is vested in taking the vision of a good life and putting it into practice. When an individual is opened to the SCO, the first initial meeting begins conversation about what the individual’s good life looks like. The Support Coordinator (SC) is able to use any of the Lifecourse Framework tools to take this conversation to the next level. While the Lifecourse tools are not required, they are helpful to include the individual in conversation, get their take on their life goals, and can lead team discussions in a fun and supportive way. WCSI’s SCO has a team of Support Coordinators dedicated to the success of Lifecourse. Every SC is also trained in the tools and can use them as best suited for each individual. See how these two individuals have benefited from using the Lifecourse Tools.
