WCSI is not only the hub of Westmoreland County for case management services, but we believe we are the hub for training and development, as well.

Our professional development and staff training program at WCSI begins each Fiscal Year with the creation of a Staff Development Plan.  This plan outlines our training goals for the upcoming fiscal year, mandatory training and training hours required for every position at WCSI. This plan is a collaboration of effort of leadership input, as well as staff suggestions, tabulated from a yearly training needs assessment.  All positions are required to go through a three day orientation at the beginning of their employment, and maintain ongoing training and development opportunities throughout employment.

This training includes:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Mental Health First Aid Certification
  • Safety Basics
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Mandated Reporter/Adult Protective Services Trainings.

Employee Training Leads to Employee Growth

All employees at WCSI are able to request specialized trainings that could enhance their development in their position.  Multiple training venues are used in these efforts, which include an internet based learning management system, in-house training and outsourced trainings.

WCSI offers many training opportunities to the clients and Westmoreland County community.  We have a variety of specialized trainings that we offer. We can also develop trainings to meet the needs of your agency or community group.  Some of our training opportunities do have a fee, but we are always looking for grant funding to assist with the needs of the clients and community. WCSI would love to partner with you or your agency on a grant proposal to assist you with the training and education that you may need.
