SUMMARY
This is a full-time non-exempt position that is responsible for the direct supervision of an assigned team of Supports Coordinators. These Supports Coordinators are responsible for the provision and coordination of Intellectual Disabilities Supports Coordination Services to eligible Individuals and their families. Essential function of this position is to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policy and procedure and to provide an appropriate level of leadership to ensure that each Supports Coordinator is working towards the vision and mission of this organization. This position reports directly to a SCO Program Manager and may also take direction from the SCO Director. Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with a half hour lunch (37.5 hrs./week) unless otherwise agreed upon.
The unique characteristic of this position, when compared to other SC Supervisors, is the responsibility for direct supervision to Supports Coordinators with a position classification of Caseworker 3. Current positions to include SC RTF and SC DDCI positions but is open to future expansion. This position will maintain a team with more than 50% of the SCs with this classification to remain a Casework Supervisor Level 2.
This position may also act as coverage for health and safety checks and case coverage of individuals served under the SCO as deemed necessary by the department director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance:
Adheres to WCSI county, state, and federal regulations governing Intellectual Disabilities program. Attends specially designed training programs provided through WCSI, county, state, and federal agencies.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Provide the appropriate level of leadership to each Supports Coordinator by demonstrating effective techniques such as instruction, coaching, mentoring, and modeling. Actively participate in monthly supervisory team meetings, conduct monthly SC team meetings, and facilitate departmental team meetings as needed. Supervisors will schedule individual supervision meetings to assist employees in managing specific situations, keep Supports Coordinators up to date with departmental needs and
changes, as well as to provide ongoing feedback on work performance. On a rotating basis, with other supervisors, provide office coverage within the department along with assuming primary responsibility for ensuring back up for team members. Delegate responsibility appropriately and
demonstrate best practice techniques. Provide necessary reports for the Program Manager and Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision to an assigned team of Supports Coordinators for the SCO Program. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policy and regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure that all program standards are reviewed and met monthly for each team member. Complete performance evaluations and performance standard reviews on all assigned staff as required by WCSI. Provide bi-weekly supervision which is logged as per agency policy. Adheres to and enforces agency personnel policies. Provide day-to-day coordination, and implementation of program goals and activities to aid the SC to manage and organize their work activities. This position will be responsible for ISP review for all of their assigned team members according to the department’s criteria for submission form and submission of all ISP’s the county level for review. Timelines for review and submission are outlined in the department’s ISP process. Supervisors will ensure to model concepts set forth by ODP that include, but are not limited to Everyday Lives, Person Centered Planning, Lifecourse Framework, and the ISAAC Principles.
Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Demonstrates the ability to participate in the decision-making process. Motivate Supports Coordinators to build on their strengths that are demonstrated and develop specific strategies to remedy performance deficiencies. Relate relevant and critical information to the SCO Program Manager in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology,
gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; and two years’ experience as a Supports Coordinator; or have a combination of experience and education equaling at least six years of experience in public or private social work including at least 24 college-level credit hours in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology or other related social science
Work experience in the Behavioral Health field with a minimum of two (2) years also preferred.
Language Skills:
The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental bulletins/regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information, and respond to questions from agency, county, and state representatives.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid PA Driver’s License, Proof of Valid Auto Insurance, Act 34 (Criminal Record), and Act 33 (Child Abuse). There will be monthly screenings of PA Medicheck List, LEIE and SAM.
Other:
This position requires the availability and utilization of the employee’s personal vehicle, for purposes of transportation to and from work appointments. Transportation of clients in personal vehicles is not permitted, as agency vehicles are available for this purpose.

ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL and MENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical/Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a motor vehicle, sit, stand, walk, bend and lift objects of up to 10 pounds. The employee regularly uses a computer, phone, fax, copier and other essential office equipment to carry out daily work assignments.
Substantial problem solving in response to urgent/emergency situations, which may require immediate action. Ability to apply principles of leadership and management in daily practice.
Work Environment:
The services of this job are community based. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a combination of office and outside/travel conditions and regularly exposed to moderate levels of noise.
